It is known for its Yahoo! search engine, web portal, and other services like Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! Mail, video sharing, and fantasy football. It was once one of the most popular websites in the U.S. In 2016, it was the highest read news and media site, with over 7 billion users per month, making it the sixth most visited site in the world. The company’s growth slowed down in the late 2000s. In 2017, Yahoo’s internet services was acquired by Verizon Communications for $4.48 billion.
