Independent lens maker Sigma is preparing to enter the cinematography market with the release of a range of lenses for cinematographers in Canon EF and Sony E mount.

The first two are zoom lenses, due to arrive in Japan and the USA towards the end of 2016. The 18-35mm T2 and 50-100mm T2, part of the High Speed Zoom Line, are built to be compact and ‘ready for high resolution shooting such as 6K-8K’.

They are expected to go on sale in the UK in early 2017.

Prices have yet to be announced.
